Earlobe Repair in Los Angeles

Earlobe repair is a relatively simple procedure. This outpatient procedure begins with a local anesthetic that is injected into the earlobe to numb the area. There are a number of different techniques that can be used to repair the earlobe, depending on the severity of the damage. If you are looking for earlobe augmentation or repair in Los Angeles, consider working with Rejuvalife.

What is
Earlobe Repair?

Individuals who have their ears pierced may notice that their piercing holes stretch and become elongated over time, especially if they wear heavy earrings. When piercing holes are stretched, they are at risk for wearing through the bottom of the ear completely, resulting in a split or torn earlobe which makes it impossible to continue wearing earrings. Thankfully, earlobe repair in LA can help to restore the earlobe to its natural state so that the ears can be re-pierced, and earrings can be worn again.

Dermal fillers for earlobe repair

For individuals who have damaged or thinned earlobes, dermal fillers can also help. When a small amount of dermal filler is injected into the damaged earlobes, it adds volume to the area, helping it to return to a more natural shape. Dermal fillers can also help in plumping up stretched, drooping earlobes so that LA patients can wear earrings more comfortably. The effects of dermal fillers for earlobe repair can last for about nine months to one year, depending on the type of filler used.

The
Procedure

In Los Angeles, earlobe repair usually takes between 15 minutes to an hour to perform, depending on the extent of the correction needed.

If there is only a partial tear, then the damaged portion of the skin will be removed, and small sutures can stitch the remaining skin back together into a more natural shape.

If the lobe is completely torn, or if the lobes have been severely stretched, a more extensive approach will be needed. This may involve rearranging healthy earlobe tissue to replace damaged tissue and reconstruct the earlobe.

FAQ

Earlobe Repair
FAQs

1WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR EARLOBE REPAIR?
There are many reasons that an individual may choose to undergo earlobe repair. This procedure can correct damage to the earlobes due to wearing very large or heavy earrings, gauging, or hereditary or congenital deformities. During your initial consultation, we will help to determine whether or not this procedure is right for you.
2RESULTS AND RECOVERY
There is no downtime required following earlobe repair, and most patients can return to their normal activities right away. Minor swelling, pain, and discomfort may occur, and over-the-counter medication can help to manage any discomfort. Sutures are often removed after five days. If you are planning on having your ears re-pierced, be sure that the piercing is not in the scar of just above the scar. The scar is weaker than surrounding tissue, so it will wear down more easily with time.
