The new and exciting non-surgical facelift procedure, Silhouette Lift®, is a safe, minimally invasive office facial rejuvenation alternative. The procedure itself is much less time-consuming, in addition to the almost non-existent downtime, offering patients results comparable to a traditional facelift much more quickly and with minimal discomfort. Using special suture threads, the Silhouette Lift® procedure counteracts the effects of aging by "lifting up" sagging skin on the face, neck, and buttocks.

For many patients, the Silhouette Lift® procedure can result in a relaxed, refreshed appearance, while preserving and enhancing the natural contour of the face. The Silhouette Lift® procedure can be used to give you subtle, natural looking solutions that:

THE Silhouette Lift® PROCEDURE

Surgical Facelifts vs Silhouette Lift®

No general anesthesia is used during a Silhouette Lift®, and since the procedure is very minimally invasive, many of the risks associated with a traditional facelift are eliminated. During a facelift, the skin is pulled up and a scalpel is used to cut away excess skin. When the edges of skin are sewn back together, incision scars or stretched cat-like eyes may result.

Contrast traditional facelifts with the Silhouette Lift® procedure, which uses threads as pulleys on the subcutaneous fat which is suspended and lifted to give skin a fuller, "higher" appearance. Repositioning the skin stimulates collagen production around it, giving the face a lifted effect. The Silhouette Lift® procedure is relatively painless, though localized anesthesia is administered for comfort.

Though results are often immediate, they generally improve over a three to six month period as collagen encapsulates and "bunches" over the threads to further fill in the face. Though side effects are few, there may be slight swelling, bruising, and redness immediately following the procedure, all of which generally dissipate in the first few days. Facial movement should be somewhat limited for about two to three weeks, however normal activities such as walking or sitting at a computer may be resumed within an hour after the procedure. Silhouette Lift® patients should avoid strenuous exercise or activity for approximately five days.

The best candidates for Silhouette Lift® are those who are in good physical condition, with reasonably normal skin thickness. If you have had a surgical facelift previously, but are again experiencing sagging skin, you may still be a good candidate for the Silhouette Lift®. Younger patients who are looking for subtle changes with brow or cheek, jowels or neck sagging or are wishing to delay signs of aging are also excellent candidates.

SILHOUETTE BUTT-UP LIFT

Finally, you can enjoy the benefits of a thigh or butt lift without surgery. The Butt Up Lift procedure provides relief from loose skin in the butt and thighs, commonly the result of substantial weight loss or normal aging. Often these can't be fully improved through regular physical activity and a healthy balanced diet. Similar problems in other areas of the body, including the abdomen, can also be addressed with the Silhouette Lift® threads.

The Butt Up Lift is an emerging new Silhouette Lift® technique that until recently was performed primarily in Europe. This non-surgical buttock lift gives a significant, long-lasting lift that raises, repositions, and tightens the skin. The beauty of this new non-surgical procedure is that Dr. Berger’s very short incision is hidden in the bikini line. Also patients do not experience the downtime associated with traditional surgical butt lifts. A traditional surgical buttocks lift removes loose, sagging skin and fat from the buttocks to accomplish similar results, but involves a long and complicated surgery under general IV sedation and a difficult recovery period.

The uplift effect of the Butt Up Lift procedure is accomplished through the strategic placement of FDA approved Silhouette Lift® threads, which lift and support the buttocks. The threads are similar to those used in the Silhouette Lift® for the face and neck, but the Butt Up Lift threads are much stronger. The Butt Up Lift threads contain a series of special absorbable cones that ‘grab’ the tissue that needs to be repositioned and lifted.

The Butt Up Lift procedure is performed in two stages. During the first stage, the Silhouette Lift® threads are inserted into the proper position. Then, about 30 days later, the threads are pulled and secured to create the lifting and contouring effect to the buttocks. As with all procedures at Rejuvalife Vitality Institute, the Butt Lift procedure is performed under local anesthesia and there is very little to no downtime.

How long does the Butt Up Lift last?

We now have a two-year and a half worldwide history for this new procedure and counting. We certainly expect that the results have the potential to last several years in the vast majority of cases. While the normal aging process will cause the affected tissue to relax over time, the extent and timing of this depends largely on the elasticity of each patient’s the skin. Patients who avoid sun exposure, smoking, and weight changes may increase the length of time that results are maintained.
