Liposculpture
Liposculpture is a liposuction alternative offering a minimally invasive body sculpting procedure to permanently remove unwanted body fat with suction to shape, smooth, and tighten. This technique is less traumatic on the body than liposuction because the instruments are smaller, more refined, and use very small skin punctures — so there are no stitches and usually no visible scars from liposculpture. By using smaller instruments, there is less to no bruising, less trauma, and many patients are able to return to work or normal activities the following day. Not every patient needs a combination, but because SmartLipo™ has the added effect of melting fat and tightening the skin, it is almost always used in combination with Liposculpture or Body Jet. For very small areas, such as knees, chin, bra bulge, or for patients with loose, lax skin, SmartLipo™ is extremely effective and may be used alone for excellent results.

Q. What is Liposculpture?
A. Liposculpture is a more refined, advanced form of liposuction that removes fat deposits through thin metal tubes or cannulas using tiny entry incisions. Our doctors use a special syringe or a vacuum suction pump to create a negative pressure to suck out fat from the areas to be improved. During the procedure the patient is under local anesthesia. If required, and most often, an oral sedative is given to enhance patient comfort.
Q. Why do people want Liposculpture?
A. A variety of reasons prompt liposcuplture, the most significant of which is usually that the patient has unwanted deposits of fat that will not go away in spite of exercise and dieting. Liposculpture helps to improve appearance, confidence and self-esteem, and aesthetic body proportions. In some cases, people use Liposcupture to "kick start" a lifestyle modification program that includes a better diet and an exercise program.
Q. How much fat can be removed with Liposculpture?
A. Some patients require fat to be removed from many areas of their bodies. This is definitely an option. However, Dr. Berger's priority is safety—he has never ever had a patient experience a serious complication. He is careful, cautious, and realistic in determining an appropriate candidate for the liposculpture and the maximum number of areas that can be safely treated during any single procedure.
The amount of fat removed from each patient varies and depends on what is best for your body. The goal of liposculpture is not to remove as much fat as possible—the goal of liposculpture is to sculpt your body, have a balanced, aesthetically pleasing result, and make you look as dramatic as possible while leaving you looking natural and smooth.
Q. Are consultations free?

Q. Can I do liposculpture if I live out-of-town?
A. Yes. Domestic and international patients are welcome. Several patients fly in to Los Angeles for their procedure every week. After your procedure, you will be given all the medications and garments that you need for your recovery. Safety is our priority. Follow up appointments are required and we will accommodate your travel schedule. Our office is in the heart of Beverly Hills (directions and map) and out-of-town patients often enjoy some shopping and celebrity watching around our office before or after their procedure. There are many hotels, shops, and restaurants within walking distance.
Q. If I add SmartLipo™ along with the liposculpture procedure, is my recovery any different?
A. No. SmartLipo™ does not affect the recovery from liposculpture in any way.
Q. What kind of SmartLipo™ laser does Rejuvalife use?
A. We have an 18-watt SmartLipo™ laser from Cynosure with the SmartSense intelligent handpiece delivery system that distributes a precise amount of energy for optimal results.
Q. What does the SmartLipo™ feel like?
A. The laser feels pleasantly warm. The skin is numb and you will feel only some mild heat similar to the feeling of strong sunlight on the skin.
Q. Is SmartLipo™ safe?
A. Yes. Because liposculpture removes the fat before the SmartLipo™ laser is used, there is no risk of lymphatic problems related to any liquefied fat. With the SmartSense intelligent handpiece, there is no risk of burning or overheating the skin.
