Solutions for Acne and Chickenpox Scars

Anyone who’s suffered with scars as a reminder of teenage acne, chickenpox or measles, knows the  embarrassment those scars and pock marks have upon them as adults.  Facial pits are the pits but modern skin laser and filler treatments can help them disappear or, at the very least, fade.

These kinds of scars can be filled with dermal fillers or smoothed down with microdermabrasion or laser resurfacing, depending upon the scar’s depth. The laser that I use the most, the Pixel, is very effective for acne scars and pock marks, as well as a variety of fillers. A combination of laser treatments and fillers provide an excellent solution with minimal or no downtime involved.

That is great that there are treatments that may help pitted skin but does insurance help pay for it? I am 46 and due to illnesses i ended up with very bad acne and pitted skin on my chin and I am on medicare and they say it is a cosmetic procedure and not necessary so they wont cover it. I think that is so wrong because it affects how you feel about yourself, low self esteem and a lot of younger people depression over it. I think the ins. co’s need to change the way they think! I know it is very hard in this day and age to have any kind of skin scarring. Thank you and if you know if they cover any procedures please let me know.

I Agree with you completely, but unfortunately these treatmenrts are considered to be cosmetic by insurance companies and they are normally not covered.

Is it true that 360 pixel treatment and dermabrasion does not work for a darker skin tone?
